It would be really great if this would get fixed at some point.  This
appears to be some type of race condition.  I don't always hit it.
But I have hit it often enough that I had forgotten completely about
it and debugged it a second time and reported it again.  (Now marked
as a duplicate.)  And I heard from a buddy who has hit it too.  So it
can't be just me that would benefit from it.  When hit it definitely
prevents a smooth database upgrade from happening.
