Btw, do be aware that these published repositories for MySQL are
forgeries. They are run through some script or something to remove unknown
amount of stuff. Probably any commit modifying the internal/ directory that is
referenced in other parts of the source tree.

One can see this in empty commits like this:

So they are not compatible with the actual repositories used for development
(still, it's the best that's available, I suppose).
