Package: mariadb-server-10.0
Version: 10.0.16-1
Severity: normal
Installing mariadb-server-10.0 on a fresh install of Jessie shows this in the
(syslog) logs:
/etc/init.d/mysql[3893]: 150405 12:38:36 mysqld_safe Can't log to error log and syslog at the same time. Remove all --log-error configur
ation options for --syslog to take effect.
Indeed, MariaDB logs go to /var/log/mysql/error.log rather than syslog.
I couldn't find any way to disable log_error without commenting that line
in /etc/mysql/my.cnf. In particular, adding 'disable_log_error' in
/etc/mysql/conf.d/mysqld_safe_syslog.cnf didn't have any effect.
