*SMALL INTRO*
My name is Daniel Cialdella, DBA for the last 25 years.
I'm working as DBA Sr. for an European company and Linux Gurú too with more
than 130 MySQL Server (and others engine too, total 300 DB Srvs, 600 Linux
SRVs)

In our area (I.T.) we are evaluating the migration from MySQL 5.6.xx to
MariaDB.
I checked MariaDB many times the last year but in 2015-02 we start to
define the new standards in our all Linux servers and the proposed
environment is:
   SLES 12 with MariaDB.

I have some virtual servers to test it.

I picked up 3 big servers (Productive) and copy the structure of objects in
MySQL and restore them in MariaDB.
Later move data, test connections, connectivity from clients, Java client,
managment tools.... and others app.

In the following weeks we will start to check our internal APP, connected
to MariaDB, and make timing about process/batchs/jobs.

*ISSUES DETECTED.*
* The big one is "mysql workbench" don't work right. I prefer to use
DBeaver and text tools, but our L2,L3, Prod. Manag. use Workbench and I
will ned to solve the compatibility issues.
(they only use workbench and it's all that they want to use)
* Sometimes I detected issues in MariaDB updates, skipping from versions.

*OFFER*
I started to work professionaly with Linux in 1998, LPIC Certified and
still working with Linux in all my notebooks (all of them).
I have some free time (1-2 hs) each day and could coolaborate with Groups
related to Debian and DBs.

Regards.
