Hello!
For the sake of inclusiveness I'll repost here stuff so far posted only on IRC:
- There was a MySQL session in last UDS. I don't think any of the
MariaDB packagers attended, but MySQL and Percona folks did.
- Video recording at
http://summit.ubuntu.com/uos-1505/meeting/22467/mysql-update-for-1510/
- Notes at http://pad.ubuntu.com/uos-1505-mysql-update-for-1510
The notes requires viewers to log in, so I'll repost the relevant things here:
- config decoupling engineered in December landed in Vivid and for
MariaDB's part also in Debian unstable, MySQL is lagging behind but
James will sponsor Robie to upload new MySQL into Debian unstable
- There are some Akonadi bugs (no link in notes) that were hard to reproduce
- MySQL will finally have a symbols file starting from
libmysqlclient20 in Debian
- Percona will get deb8 tests in Debian. (MariaDB does nto have any
deb8 tests at all still, anybody want to write them?)
- Packing throughout the next cycle can give MySQL and Percona
engineers a good history to achieve upload rights for Debian and
Ubuntu
Work Items in the notes
[racb] Update akonadi bug with next steps from the MySQL end about the
segfault: TODO
[racb] Ask Ubuntu security team for a +1 on proposed --ssl breaking
change to stable release: TODO
[mattgriffin] Ask Percona team about their views/advice on
http://mysqlblog.fivefarmers.com/2015/04/29/ssltls-in-5-6-and-5-5-ocert-advisory/
[akhmohan] Update packaging for 5.7
[mattgriffin] Review PXC SRU bug fix for Vivid and verify so it can be
updated from Proposed to Updated

[percona] switch to unix socket authentication
[akhmohan] switch to unix socket authentication
[percona] MREs for percona-server-5.6 and PXC-5.6
Please note that MariaDB in Debian unstable and Ubuntu vivid already
has unix socket authentication. You might want to copy-paste some of
the already made scripts there.
