[debian-mysql] Bug#803148: Latest security update sometimes corrupts help_topic table

Package: mysql-server
Version: 5.5.46-0+deb8u1
Severity: important

Hi,

Sorry, this is a slightly vague report, but we have observed some
table corruption following the most recent security update, so it
seems worth reporting. We have a set of 19 jessie VMs, all of which
updated to the security release; following this, 2 of 19 then had
their next daily mysqldump fail thus:

mysqldump: Error 1194: Table 'help_topic' is marked as crashed and should be repaired when dumping table `help_topic` at row: 509

In both cases, the table was repairable with REPAIR TABLE, but
still. Upgrades should not corrupt database tables :)

Neither machine had any disk-space issues (#803146 was a different
problem with a different VM).

Regards,

Matthew
