Package: mariadb-server-10.0
Version: 10.0.28-2
Severity: important

Hi Otto,

why does mariadb-server-10.0 ship the empty directory
/var/lib/mysql-upgrade?

As I can see the preinst script uses it to communicate "something" to
the postinst. The preinst has to create the directory anyway.
Postinst uses the information stored by the preinst and afterwards
unconditionally deletes the directory. That would work as well (and
without needeing any changes) if the empty directory were not shipped.

This shipped-but-missing object triggers an error in my experimental
piuparts instance.

Andreas
