I tried multiple different variants but not exactly the one above. Can
you try and send me a patch that is tested?

I have quite a lot on my plate right now with other MariaDB 10.1,
Connector C, Galera etc issues to do and upload in the next 4-5 days
to be in time before the Debian 9 freeze.
