Hello,

We would like to explore getting Percona XtraBackup updated to our 2.4
release in the debian main repository. I believe most if not all of
the issues reported have been addressed in our most recent release.
Also, support for the MySQL 5.7 series is available.

We are currently hosting our source at:
https://github.com/percona/percona-xtrabackup

Our most recent release is tagged: percona-xtrabackup-2.4.5

Although we currently generate deb src and bin packages for wheezy and
jessie (both 32bit/64bit) in our Jenkins CI system, George Lorch
mentioned to me that we may need to have a separate set of upstream
Debian packages to meet specific requirements. Perhaps we can start
with the current 2.2.3 packaging or if necessary build new packaging
from scratch.

What is the best starting point for getting things rolling?
