Hello Julian!

Thanks for contributing to the packaging of MariaDB 10.1 in Debian.
The Lintian error has been there for a while and no override has been
added, because it is indeed an actual issue that should be fixed.
However, fixing it is not that easy, so it hasn't been done yet. Do
you think you would like to take a shot on it?

The fix in Debian should preferrably be such, that we don't deviate
too much from upstream so keep our maintenance burden reasonable in
the long term. If you file an issue at jira.mariadb.org upstream and
work there, if would perhaps be ideal, but then the fix would arrive
only in MariaDB 10.2.

We have already fixed a bunch of Multi-Arch issues and this one you
reported is the last one still unfixed, along with some Multi-Arch
hinter issues in related pacakge mariadb-connector-c.

If you send a patch, please do it as public git branches so I can
easily pull (and you can easily rebase when the target repo updates).
Or alternatively you can send patches on Github as pull requests.
