Package: mariadb-common
Version: 10.1.37-0+deb9u1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

When upgrading the package mariadb-common doest not install properly with a
message :
update-alternatives: error: alternative path /etc/mysql/mariadb.cnf doesn't
exist

The only solution I found is to create a link in /etc/mysql :
mariadb.cnf -> ./mysql.cnf

and redo the upgrade with success.

Note : That file "mariadb.cnf" does not exist on other machines with the same
Mariadb
version.
Package was :  mariadb-common_10.1.37-0+deb9u1_all.deb

Regards

JP P
