Dear Maintainer,

To utf8_unicode_ci or not to utf8_unicode_ci, that's the question. ;)
AFAIK utf8_unicode_ci is recommended, but the current default is utf8_general_ci.

Ideally this would be fixed upstream but upstream seems unresponsive.
