Package: mariadb-server-10.1
Version: 10.1.38-0+deb9u1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
after an upgrade from 10.1.37-0+deb9u1 to 10.1.38-0+deb9u1, the mysql
server does not start anymore via systemd.
Manually starting the mysql server works fine.
systemctl status mariadb.service displays
● mariadb.service - MariaDB 10.1.38 database server

preset: enabled)

'exit-code'.
Manually editing the systemd service file in /lib/systemd/system/ to
remove all ExecStartPre lines also does not work.
The service file is not modified, the same issue occurs even after
removing the service file and forcing a reinstall.
This user (

had the same issue, but apparently no fix was found.
