Thanks for explaining how it works. I was able to patch SConscript and
got it Salsa-CI passing in

I will not change the scons into something different, as that would
place the burden of maintaining a custom build system on me alone, and
it would be too much work as a maintainer. I will however file this as
a bug report upstream and attach your comments, maybe they will stop
using os.uname() for arch decisions.
