I do think that this is the way to go. Let's see whether anyone has any
practical need to change this.

If we ever revisit this, the first thing to look at is mariadb_config.
In order to ever mark it M-A:same, mariadb_config must be removed. This
is a huge task. Not for the faint of heart and maybe not worth the
trouble.

What I'll do however is remove users of mariadb_config. I'll migrate
them to pkg-config. For instance, a patch to qtbase-opensource-src is
pending about this. Once this work has advanced, we might reconsider.
