Hello ftp-masters!

MariaDB 10.6 is currently pending in the NEW queue
(https://ftp-master.debian.org/new/mariadb-10.6_1:10.6.4-1.html).

Here is some information to make the review easier/quicker to do:

- MariaDB has been in Debian since 2013. The way it has been packaged
since the beginning (and also MySQL was) includes a version string the
the name, thus new major releases create new package names, which is
the reason they end up in the NEW queue.

- New src:mariadb-10.6 will replace src:mariadb-10.5

- The previous major upstream version 10.5 was released in 2020, and
now 10.6 released in 2021 does not ship that many big changes. The
changes that do exists are extensively documented in
https://salsa.debian.org/mariadb-team/mariadb-server/-/blob/debian/latest/debian/mariadb-server-10.6.NEWS

- The package has very extensive QA in Debian
(https://archive.fosdem.org/2021/schedule/event/mariadb_distros/)
including one of the most extensive Salsa-CI pipelines
(https://salsa.debian.org/mariadb-team/mariadb-server/-/pipelines/301524)

- General overview:

Thanks!

- Otto
