Hi Denys,
I am not sure that the problem is the same, in your case it seems that
the datadir does not exist or need to be recreated.
If you are sure that nothing can be lost (or that you have backups), you
should try the following:
| sudo systemctl stop mariadb
| sudo rm -rf /var/lib/mysql/*
| sudo -u mysql mariadb-install-db
| Installing MariaDB/MySQL system tables in '/var/lib/mysql' ...
