Why did you have to fork this package in Ubuntu?

You could have just submitted a MR for the package in Debian. I
understand if the Debian package and Ubuntu have some intentional
differences one might need to fork the Ubuntu version, but in this
case you did not try to contribute to the Debian package. In fact your
bug report in Debian states that this libxml2 issue is *not* supposed
to be fixed yet. There was no warning that you will fork the package
unless the maintainer fixes the issue in X days. This kind of
behaviour does not make any sense to me. If you had contributed to the
package in Debian this would already be fixed in both Debian and
Ubuntu.

Please sync the package from Debian and do the required extra work you
created now. Thanks!
