It appears that OpenSuse has just skipped the failing test to unblock
their tumbleweed snapshot:
https://src.opensuse.org/pool/mariadb/commit/b936d60029bffc4f087a5441991a11afc36392dbb9422378eaab79c25d7eee05
Yet, I can't find any record that they asked or informed upstream
before doing that. Huh.
I don't have a view on whether it's appropriate for Debian to package
fixes like that, before an upstream release incorporating the fix.
I also see at least one previous PCRE2 release which has had similar
problems with MariaDB. Either this reflects poorly on us (PCRE2)
making bugfixes or improvements which change behaviour; or it shows
that MariaDB's tests are a little brittle. In any case, I do apologise
to the Debian MariaDB maintainers for this churn.
