Hi,

I've opened a merge request with a fix:
https://salsa.debian.org/mariadb-team/mariadb-server/-/merge_requests/187

preinst stops mariadb.socket before the service, and postinst starts it
again only if it was active. It adds an autopkgtest for the upgrade cases,
which passes on Salsa CI.
