[Pkg-nagios-devel] nagios-common: ping dies horribly

for command check_ping nagios calls
'/bin/ping -n -U -w 10 -c 1 $HOSTADDR'

using the older netkit-ping the parameter '-U' is not supported. This
leads to nagios reporting the service DOWN and later as host DOWN when
the default check-host-alive fails the same test.

using the newer iputils-ping this is not a problem.

It would be much easier for others who encountered this problem if
iputils-ping was set as a dependancy. It is newer and appears to support
  all the old netkit-ping parameters.
