this sounds fairly interesting...  i gave the patch a quick once-over,
and it looks fairly clean, minus some indentation issues.  could you
do me a favor and double check the whitespacing, and then post this as
a wishlist bug against the nagios source package tagged 'patch' to keep
it on my radar?
