so, if i understand correctly, you have a virtual host like
servicemon.yourdomain.com with nagios and other apps.  what about
something like:

ScriptAlias /nagios/cgi-bin /usr/lib/cgi-bin/nagios
Alias /nagios /usr/share/nagios/htdocs

the whole point of the change was to make things more flexible (all
hrefs are relative now, not absolute), not less, though it looks like
that in the process it may have broken a few things.  if we fix this
up i'll put some sample configs in the doc directory for each
configuration type.
