my vote would be to either (a) have nagios2 provide the same
virtual nagios package as the nagios-foo 1.x servers or (b) remove all
references to the nagios virtual package.  

in any case, purely depending on a virtual package without specifying
a concrete choice is a Bad Thing, so even if we do stick with (a),
the dependencies will need to be updated to be $nagiosofourchoice | nagios.

for the time being, i'll remove the dependency for the next upload, as
it won't horribly break anything not to have it there.

btw: as you may have noticed, i just migrated nrpe over to svn,
following the notes you provided.  thanks :)  i'll be uploading
the new upstream version of nrpe as soon as i've verified that
installing it doesn't explode my server.
