Unfortunately, the result of this test has never been shown here.

On a second thought, this might be #368684. Can you try setting
p1_file=/usr/lib/nagios2/p1.pl in nagios.cfg and see if this fixes the bug?

If it doesn't, I'd like to see a stack backtrace while using the debugging
information.
