[Pkg-nagios-devel] Bug#357284: no integration of send_nsca with nagios plugins

Package: nsca
Severity: wishlist

Unfortunately, send_nsca does expect its input in a different format
than normal nagios plugins are capable to output. This can be easily
remedied by a small wrapper script, but a script feels out of place in
the strongly binary-oriented nagios world.

IMO, the easiest way to obtain this feature would be to extend
send_nsca to allow a plugin command line on its command line.
send_nsca would then execute the plugin as a subprocess and report its
findings to the remote host.

As long as upstream doesn't include that functionality, Debian should
offer a wrapper script.

Greetings
Marc
