you can take this with a grain of salt if you want.

my of-hand guess is that greetds makes some assumptions about the
layout of a nagios system (the name and location of certain binaries or
similar), and the layout in nagios2 doesn't look as it expects (we
use a somewhat unique layout method which prevents nagios and nagios2
from conflicting).

in any case, i would be hard-pressed not to consider this a bug in
the software you're trying to use.
