hrm...  it wouldn't be too hard to do this, but i worry that folks
might actually want to hold onto the logs for archival purposes
or something.  i suppose we could drop in a default crontab
that removed files  more than N months old or something, but
we'd also have to agree on an acceptable lifespan for the archives.
