i've been doing precious little wrt nagios package maintenance as i'm
sure you're aware due to $work focus being elsewhere.  however switching to
git would only make me more likely to contribute :)

if you try to keep the previous version control history, it might be a
bit tricky to graft the ./debian-only dir layout from svn onto a git
tree with full source though, do you have any experience with that?
