If you don't want to install recommended packages you should disable
automatic installations of recommends (default in lenny and later). 

Somethink like: 
APT::Install-Recommends “0″;
in /etc/apt/apt.conf or /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/ would help. 

So there is nothing to fix from our side.
