This version of nagios-nrpe-server is just too old, from 2006 according
to archive.debian.org - you should REALLY upgrade to a new release or
even reinstall the server.
IIRC starting with 2.8 there's multiline support in NRPE.

Well... then you have to upgrade/reinstall all your 32 Bit Debian
