yeah but 3.3.1 breaks compatibility and changes behavior. at least the 
classic ui got a new style, new rss feed phoning home (more php), broken 
Makefile. On the core, empty perfdata is not put anymore on the perfdata 
channel, which breaks compatibility to nagiosgrapher entirely and is 
therefore one of those major bugs alex is referring to. patches on 
nagios-devel lists are already there, but not yet applied nor released. 
backporting all these patches to a 3.2.3 tree is a mess to maintain. 
i've tried patching 3.3.1 for the good, but i am still not done... see
