Package: check-mk-server
Version: 1.1.12p7-1
Severity: wishlist
Dear Maintainer,
I'm looking for site local directories of Check MK for some time.
I figured out the OMD installation has something.
When one need to develop some check locally it is very impractical to
create it under system dir /usr/share/check_mk/checks.
I'm doing symlinks to /usr/local currently:
nms.i.cz:/home/zito# ll /usr/share/check_mk/checks/ups*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 44 Apr 18 11:49 /usr/share/check_mk/checks/ups.include -> /usr/local/share/check_mk/checks/ups.include
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 42 Mar 28 09:53 /usr/share/check_mk/checks/ups_alarm -> /usr/local/share/check_mk/checks/ups_alarm
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 48 Mar 28 11:01 /usr/share/check_mk/checks/ups_autorestart -> /usr/local/share/check_mk/checks/ups_autorestart
...
It is annoying and error prone. Is there any better way today? I hope
I have not missed some better correct way for doing this.
It could be very fine to have site local directories for
checks, checks-man, pnp-templates, pnp-rraconf
also under /usr/local/check_mk for example.
Maybe, is this desirable to be prepared upstream before?
Thank you for your work on packaging this great tool.
Kind Regards
