Oh I guess I didn't read the comment in the code :/
Paul Wise helped me test a few:
Debian/jessie: uses nfs4 and -l ignores nfs
Debian/wheezy: uses nfs4 and -l ignores nfs

If "nfsv4" was wrong and no one complained, then maybe it's safe to be 
removed from excludefs? And maybe "nfs" and the comment can be removed too?
If it's going to stay then I think it should be adjusted.
