The pkg-nagios-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org list [0] is the best place
to discuss packaging.

You can start to help by triaging bugreports in the packages you use and
testing proposed patches. If those work they can be included in the
packaging on Salsa [1] and new uploads prepared.
