[Pkg-net-snmp-devel] Bug#460050: snmpd: "proc" only sees processes in the first 512 processes of the processtable

Package: snmpd
Version: 5.4.1~dfsg-5
Severity: normal

We're monitoring several processes on our mailboxserver:

proc sshd 1000 1
proc master 1 1
proc cpqarrayd 1 1
#proc authdaemon.pl 15 1
#proc couriertls 1000 1
proc courierpop3d 1500 0
proc couriertcpd 1500 1
proc dovecot\-auth 1500 1
proc imap\-login 1500 1

Nagios is reporting falpping for master and cpqarrayd, although these
are running all the time. Whenever I used

ps auxwww

and then searched for master or cpqarrayd in the output, I noticed that
they could be found in the first 512 lines (nagios reports the process
as running) or after the first 512 line (nagios reports the process
count as 0).
