I've tried this now on a machine without /proc/bus/pci , and I get
the same message but ...

and snmpd is running; and I can talk to it.

Could you please check again if snmpd is actually not running/working
Raspberry Pi B, admittedly running Raspbian not Debian but snmpd has
the same version
