The bug seems to be fixed in FreeBSD with an update (to 3.1.13_2, cf. https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=263743#c9). The error is reported also here: https://sourceforge.net/p/netatalk/bugs/670/
