What is crucially needed now to even get Netatalk 2 in Jessie is for 
someone to fix bug#751121.

If you are only intrested in helping with Netatalk 3, then that's fine 
too.  But I highly doubt that any work now on that front will be 
accepted for Jessie: Freeze is in 2 days, which means a bug-free 
Netatalk 3 should have been uploaded at least 8 days ago. :-(
