Hi Ian (and Faidon),

to answer Faidon's "That sounds fun!" first:  Yes, its really fun.  You
will not beleave how many low hanging fruits are out there.  Like in
this case just apply a patch and have the bug fixed.

I need to admit that this is not my field of knowledge and I have no
idea what BGP daemons are.  May lazy way to deal with this is to leave
it in Package Salvage team and wait until someone might catch up.  In
fact most of the packages should be handed over to QA maintenance.  So
if you do not have any more specific suggestions I'd prefer to leave it
as is.
