[pkg-nvidia-devel] Bug#462729: nvidia-kernel-source: Module fails to link in chroot environment

I am attempting to build this in a i386 chroot environment inside an amd64 
install because of programs that will not run in the amd64 environment.

I have tried several methods to build the module within the chroot, but all 
have failed. It seems that, for some reason, the builder is insisting on 
using an amd64 object file even though the install was from within an i386 
chroot.

The module itself seems to build properly, but then fails in the linking stage 
with the message set as follows:

(/usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel/nv/nv-kernel.o) to format elf32-i386
