Good point.

I tried doing the compile and run test of the code in the bug, and at
least on 169.12-1 it works correctly, so perhaps the current packages
actually have fixed the bug.

I did not have nvidia-glx-dev installed at the time, only nvidia-glx and
xlibmesa-gl-dev.
