Well since I didn't have any debian kernels between 2.6.26 and 2.6.29
I didn't test that.  Rather odd that it fails with that though.

No debian version has anything between 2.6.26 and 2.6.29 anymore, so I
don't know if they are worth trying to support.  Do you have any reason
for not wanting to just move to 2.6.29?
