[pkg-nvidia-devel] Bugs 503895 and 504585 together, still no solution

Hello debian maintainers
since the relevant technical information is already at the bug reports, I 
didn't want to submit a new one but to explain the unsloved problem :on the 
180 series, nvidia dropped support for Geforce 5200 and other cards.
The last legacy driver that can be installed from nvidia is
173.14.12 which works fine with Xserver 1.5
however, the last version of this series available from debian is 173.14.9 
which does not work with xserver 1.5.
that means, that someone with GeForce 5200 (for example) can not use GLX with 
xserver 1.5 unless he installs the driver from nvidia site and not from 
debian.
I think you should package 173.14.12 as nvidia-legacy package (sorry for you, 
another legacy package) or at list upgrade the nvidia driver pacckages in the 
unstable to 173.14.12.
