Some people have cards that are only supported by nvidia-glx which is in
experimental (like the 320M which is in the MacBookAir3,1) and need
a matching 'nvidia-settings' to fix their faulty display. 

That machine has a 6-bit LCD, which only supports 262144 colours instead
of 16 million; so it needs dithering at 6 bits per colour channel
enabled, to smooth colour gradients.
