That is fine, you just need to install the current version of
nvidia-kernel-source first. Use your favorite package manager. BTW,
195.36.31-3 is out :-)

There can be only one version of the module source be installed at any
time, so you can't select a module source version with module-assistant.

That is for the legacy packages only, just ignore the ${VERSION} part
(which would be something like -legacy-173xx)
