We would need a versioned Conflicts on packages in config-files-remaining
state. As this is not supported in dpkg, we would have to emulate it in the
preinst of libgl*-nvidia-alternatives* which is likely to break other things
(regular upgrades?) in weird ways. Adding NEWS entries to the
libgl*-nvidia-alternatives* packages might confuse users as well. Eventually
adding a NEWS entry to the nvidia-glx-legacy-ABCxx packages would work best.
Doing a preinst check there might be too late already.
