Let's try to the the 'old' version into squeeze-backoprts, it's
something labeled 'long lived branch' by upstream and it may be nice to
the two versions (275.* and 290.*) available so that people can check
bugs against both versions. The version from squeeze-backports should be
easily installable in wheezy and sid.

nvidia-settings (290.10) has been prepared for backporting, too.
