Have you tried a different window manager?

Eventually reinstall all nvidia and related packages to make sure you
have no corrupt file there - clear you package cache first, too.
    aptitude reinstall '~i nvidia' '~i glx'

Also create a new user and retry as this user - to make sure it's not
something that has accumulated in the dot-files etc. of your account.

There is not much we can do about this bug in the proprietary driver and
libraries. Please check the NVIDIA forum whether this issue has already
been reported there. And then either add more information or create a
new bug report there. The NVIDIA forum and bug reporting instruction can
