Switching to the Nuvola theme gets rid of the slow down except for some websites in Iceweasel. I'm not sure why but when I open a link in a new tab or switch between tabs on http://getnightingale.com I could understand if it took a while to connect to the website but it isn't that, it slows down the actual tabs.
